Inspired by the Romney flock at a local farm (my favorite breed of sheep's wool to spin), these tools will make a great gift for your best knitting friend and useful tool for your own knitting bag.

Pick from a Sheep Knitting Needle Gauge, Crochet Hook Gauge or a Wraps Per Inch (WPI) tool.

Knitting Needle Gauge: The knitting needle gauge's precise holes are laser cut from hardwood, perfect for measuring knitting needles from sizes 0 to 17. Both the US sizes and metric measurement are clearly etched above and below each hole to ensure it is universal for every knitter.

Crochet Hook Gauge: Its precise holes are perfect for measuring crochet hooks from sizes B through P. Both the US letter size and metric measurement are clearly etched above and below each hole to ensure it is universal for every crocheter.

(Please note that crochet hooks with ergonomic handles are often made with larger hook heads than the metric measurement of the shaft and will not work with this gauge: i.e. Clover Soft Touch)

Wraps Per Inch Tool: The wraps per inch sheep is a handy little tool for measuring the thickness of any yarn. Simply wrap the yarn around his belly into the inch wide notches. Compare the number of times your yarn fits in the slots with the key on his backside and you'll know if you've spun up a bulky, worsted or sport weight yarn.
